In an ongoing partnership with Finger Lakes Community College, we welcomed students from Bob Potter’s Sound Reinforcement/Live Recording Class to our offices on February 26 for a look into the world of live event production that was tailored to their career interests.
This visit provided students with a firsthand introduction to the range of career possibilities within the AV industry. By exposing them to different facets of the field and facilitating connections with Cheshire’s experienced staff, the company aims not only to inspire and support this next generation of AV professionals, but also to contribute to strengthening the industry.
Throughout the evening, the Cheshire team shared insights on life as an AV professional, discussed the realities of working in the industry, and provided a tour of the company’s facilities. Staff members demonstrated sound equipment and LED panels to expose the students to practical knowledge that will be useful as they prepare to launch their careers. With graduation fast approaching, this experience came at an opportune time—offering soon-to-be graduates an inside look at the workings of a professional AV company and options for possible careers ahead.
Graduates of Bob Potter’s class leave FLCC with a strong technical foundation, well-equipped to build successful careers in the AV industry. By fostering relationships with aspiring professionals, Cheshire AV is not only opening doors for these students but also strengthening the future of live event production.
